Borg Backup

I was looking for a good backup solution for a long time. Just recently I got the tip to have a look at borgbackup and think it is a simple and strong backup software. Today I set it up and start to test it for my server. My backup setup is based on a local borg repository, which will be synced to my local Synology Diskstation as a remote backup.

TOR [0.2.6.8] issues on CentOS 7.1

I just recently started to play around with Tor and already provided some GBytes traffic within the Network. I’m not providing an Exit-Node but hope to improve the performance of the network. Yesterday I just made an update to my CentOS 7.1 Maschine and Tor got updated to version 0.2.6.8. After that update Tor wasn’t starting anymore and showed failures as the following [user@centos ~]$ sudo service tor status Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status tor.

Slovak Paradise

Hello again, yesterday I was at the Slovak Paradise National Park together with Felix, Simon, Simons girlfriend ans his mother. Slovak Paradise is about 100km northwest of Kosice. We went there by public transport. First we got to Spisska Nova Ves by train (Kosice 08:15 -> Spisska Nova Ves 09:10) and afterwards with a bus to Cingov, an entrance point in the north-east of the Slovak Paradise. So we started our trip and followed the blue route on the map to ‘Biely potok ustie’ and from there to ‘Klastorisko’.

Awesome Budapest

Hey there, as you already know, I was in Budapest the last weekend. For those who are only interested in pictures, here is the long story short: Great city, awesome nightlife, totally worth a visit 😉 Friday Stood up at 4:45 in the morning to take the morning train at 6 o’clock AM directly to Budapest together with Felix. At least the seats were fine and air condition was working, so we were able to sleep a lot of the scheduled 3:30 train ride, which was extended to 4:15 by a 45 minutes stop just a few kilometers in front of Budapest Keleti…

Kosice Free Time Activities

Hello again from Kosice city. Today I want to tell you why I don’t have enough time to write blog entries ;-), so I’m writing about my free time activities here in Kosice. Swimming and sunbathing According to the hot weather here (Everyday since I am here, it is over 30 degrees Celsius and sunny), we go swimming a lot. The first few times we were at an open air swimming pool nearby the city center, which was pretty crowded in- and outside of the water.
